I finished 22nd in this year's Bristol 10K in 32.36, I still think I should run faster over this course, but I shouldn't be too disappointed with 32 and a half at my age. I went off too fast, but it didn't feel that fast, and I was behind Julian E. but on the other hand Tom M. and Kairn were just ahead.

By half way (which was probably around 15.20) I was struggling, and the climb over the Cumberland Basin comes at just about the worst place in the race that it could be. Steve McG was going like a train through the field, and everybody ahead of me was disappearing from view.

I can get going a little better in the last K but it's too late to make much of a difference. Julian had slowed but still finished in 32, which fits in with the first half being too fast - I wonder whether it is slightly down hill.

Sian finished just under 39.30 and Vicky was just behind. Claire Hallisey had a great run to finish second behind Hatti Dean.

... I still feel that I've got room for improvement, and Mike was pointing out that it's time for some 5K work on the track, the trouble is that life gets in the way of too many sessions.
