I safely retained the CSSC 10K title, only clocking 32.54, but I was slowing down by the end and the wind was very tricky.

It was certainly very different from last year, it was a relatively easy start and I gradually built up a 100m lead on the first two (of four) laps. That's when the lapping starts, and it's much more difficult to change big gaps. There is about 500m run in at the end, and by then I was taking it easy as I could see Gary Pennington wasn't catching up fast enough to get past me. Steve Hallas had run London, and still managed to get ahead of Shane S. and David Williams.

Abbeywood's Katie Beecher was third in the women's race, only a minute behind Angela A!

It was a very enjoyable day in London, but the strong wind blew the dust and pollen into my eyes, and London had taken its toll on the field, but in truth I didn't want to run too hard between Bristol last weekend and the masters relay next weekend. ... and I suspect Gary knew I would get my act together if he had got within striking distance.

...and so I've survived two races and just need to get through Saturday so we can enjoy the evening!
