I'm tempted to say another year, another Mike Sully, in the end I finished 21st, not really much progress towards being fit, but then it's never ideal hanging around the Downs for hours before the race. A 4K is very fast for me these days and it was good training more than anything else. At the front Tom won Rob, and Owain showed a glimpse of the possible to finish third. Rob's form is in very impressive form at the moment, it's as if he hasn't realised he's 40 yet.

Sian was taking photos - and Athletics Weekly published two on Thursday. For the record, Kate G. made it a home win in the womens race, a big achievement as she didn't seem to be the favourite on the start line.

...but afterwards it was back to the usual Mike Sully stuff, collecting up the marker tape in the cold, at least it wasn't raining this year.
