There's lurgi in the office and at home today, so Sian won't be able to make training tonight, and as I've just finished a few weeks of big races, I've decided to restrict my road miles to Eastville Park this evening. I usually only run for 30 mins running on a Tuesday lunchtime, but it will still be difficult to put in 100% effort in the dark around the probably slippery tarmac of Eastville Park.
It's always interesting to read the weekend's results, the Civil Service Marathon was won in 2.45, it was part of the London Luton Marathon, which was won in 2.37. Dave A's blog says how windy it was, he still managed a 17 min PB!!! - but I can see that it would be depressing to do all the trainging and then have to run 26 miles in the sort of very blustery conditions that were around on Sunday. I guess that's a good argument for doing a big one like London or NY, even if the time is slow there is still the position in the race.
I've finally decided to start using my version of the flickr badge, the column of photos on the right hand side of my blog, there are still a few bits of it to be touched up, but I'll never use if I wait until it's perfect. ...it would be better if I made more of an effort with the camera on race day, but you can't do everything in life.
